I am in the Army and I believe in responsibility. If I do something wrong I get disciplined for my actions. I believe I was the victim and I intend to try my best to make the officers involved held accountable for their actions. My uninspected car was parked at Burger King. An off duty cop walked up to me as I was getting in. he said "I should give you a ticket you are lucky I am off duty". He wrote down my plate #. A few weeks later I got a ticket in the mail for driving uninspected. I only drove this car 1 time to Burger King. The ticket listed a street 5 miles from the Burger King that I have never been on and a different officer (I called the PD and the one on the ticket didn’t look like the one at Burger King). How can they say that I was at a place that I was never at? Even if the officer was on duty he still didn't have the right to write me a ticket for being uninspected on private property. I contacted an attorney and he said that I could sue for negligence. But this was not negligence this was intentional. If I pursue this in criminal court what may happen to this officer?
